Atlas Genius’ wonderful sophomore album Inanimate Objects struck me as more electronic leaning than their debut album, and my favorite single off the release illustrated that quite clearly. Now, Molecules morphs into an even more electrifying dance song, thanks to New York production act Penguin Prison, who gives it a slick edit that bounces entrancingly. The remix palpitates and pulses with beats like those of a heart of darkness. It’s a wired jam that jolts and jars pleasurably.

As it turns out, The Chainsmokers new hit with Halsey, Closer, is a ripe wonderland for producers and remixers across the board. It’s quickly become one of the most remixed tunes from the red hot electronic duo. Today, we turn to California’s own Aash Mehta as he transforms Closer into a melodic future bass soiree overflowing with ethereal chords and choppy vocals. Aash’s flip is a dose of uplifting, heartwarming bliss. It reminds us of the beauty and wonder that the world holds, despite all the ugliness that we encounter daily. It’s yet another feather in the cap for this steadily rising production talent.

’Cause I’m a Man (HAIM Remix) - Tame Impala.

I’ve always had a thing for gender-bent lyrics in songs (I blame too much early Kate Bush exposure), so when I heard this HAIM remix/cover of the great “I’m a Man” off the new Tame Impala record, I like it immediately. They keep the same synth-y spaciness and just subtly add their own inflection to it. And the results are very nice indeed.

Miike Snow’s Genghis Khan has quickly become one of my favorite songs in the month it’s been out and about. You can’t deny how wildly infectious it is, and its whimsical cadence and smooth vocals are a superb representation of all we love about the Swedish alt dance trio. Brooklyn’s Empress Of has turned in a firecracking remix of Genghis Khan full of piquant flare and playful edge. As we eagerly await Miike Snow’s next album, iii, out March 4th, I’m more than happy to shake my booty time and time again to this feverish version of Genghis Khan.

If you haven’t heard of Win and Woo by now then let me tell you, they’ll win your heart over while wooing your girl and you won’t even cry about it. Okay, I admit that might be a corny reach of play on words but their remixes are always vibrant renditions that get me shimming and shaking wherever I’m at.  The latest track to get the Win and Woo treatment is Pompeya’s ‘OOOOO’. They lure you in then offer up a rhythmically upbeat tune that gets you to tap your feet along. Make your feet happy and check this track out. Throw it a heart on hypem too!
